I have written this report with as minimum content as possible. The reason for this is to capture the essential and necessary information that is needed to get the job done!

There is a simple formula in this method and if done correctly can get you massive amounts of traffic and generate affiliate revenue.

Please note: I have avoided all the Internet Marketing Hype, if adding all the hype in will generate me more traffic and sales then please let me know and I will spice up the next report. However in all honesty if you do well on this or even find this useful give me a shout and let me know.

Assuming you have a keyword list and a specific keyword that is getting relatively good number of searches, for this example we will use the keyword ‘get ex back’. For those who do not understand it basically people who have lost their soul mate and would like her/him to get back into their lives.

Run the keyword through Google AdWords Suggestion and get these results:

You can see that the keyword has approx’ 8,100 searches and some advertiser competition, this indicates that it is in healthy market since competitors would only exist in a market that is expected to be profitable.

Let’s do a google search and see the result:

So we see that the keyword has 29,700,000 competing pages. At the top of the search results is an ezinearticle.com article.
By clicking the link we get this page:

The date at the top will show you (for me) that the date is from yesterday as I checked this through the cache of Google to make sure that the information on the page is accurate as far as what Google sees, it is the same as you would see if you click the link and no through the cache.

At the bottom highlighted in yellow you see for just over 3 months the article has had just over 5000 views per month. However do you notice that the article only got 4 votes and only star at that. Granted it is not enough to base your judgement of the article on 4 ratings but the fact that it did not get hardly any rating is a worry, anyway we will look at that later.

The two arrows at the top. 1 leads you to http://www.stopyourbreakup.net/getexback and the other to a scibd.com page. The 1st link is important in our observation the 2nd relevant but not as much, again will explain in the conclusion.

The important question for us at this stage is how the article got ranked so well in Google. Take a look at these results for the back-links in Google to this page:

Unfortunately I could not capture all the results in the tool but I will tell you the observations.

Firstly all the back-links for Google come from other eZine articles and it should not be a surprise that it is in other related categories.

Look at the screenshot for the ezine article, notice those other links below? these are the links shown in this screenshot above the highlighted yellow is the IP address looking at the matching IP below 216.235.79.13 with 1,054 back-links to that article making up 87.4% of the results, most of the back-links that assist in this page ranking is from ezinearticle.

However there is an important point, not a single result has an anchor text! Although the article page has the enough of the keyword to give it significance to Google the other results show that the article has been fueled into what is perceived as a blog network.

Approx 170 have been fed into the network and most using the keyword ‘get ex back’ and link to this article, for those of you unaware of a blog network it is when a host of blogs are created on the spin onto different IPs (to avoid detection or to look spammy) and you would submit your post with anchor based link to them, therefore they are spread out across them generally over a period of time to avoid spam detection.

These anchor based back-links would have given the search engine a better indication about the article from external sources. Note you do not need so many from a blog network, a few from strong sites should be sufficient for this purpose.

OK, moving onto where the first link redirects to:

Actually if you were to click the link in the article it will redirect you to http://www.magicofmakingup.com/ but I mentioned that the link goes to http://www.stopyourbreakup.net/getexback.

This link is actually only a redirect hence this screenshot shows that it has no ranking in Google, there is nothing on the page so Google will not give it any rankings. However there is an original site http://www.stopyourbreakup.net, it has links to the above link, but again it mentions the video; my conclusion of this is that it had some information originally and now has redirected.

The actual page it redirects to does not have any ranking in Google either although some in AltaVista and AllTheWeb.

But take a look at the URL http://www.magicofmakingup.com/?hop=toolkits1.

The ‘hop’ in the URL indicates that it is a clickbank product *ching ching*, it is an affiliated link, the redirect URL is used possibly to avoid the display of the affiliate ID or for tracking purposes. Anyway here is the Clickbank results for this product below:

It is quite good considering it has a gravity of 290.94 and you get 75% of the profits which equates to $24.05 per sale, would you happy be with 5 sales a day from 5000 visits a month?

Lets get to my conclusion:

1) Ezines are a powerful method of promotion via the search engines, I think we can agree on that.

2) Internal ranking to your ezine article will assist in the ranking of the article.

What would I do to achieve this?

I personally would push to get my article in the most viewed in the last 90 days, check out the articles to find minimum pages views over the 90 day and get traffic hits to the page. Ezine article is very smart and can detect non-human traffic, play it cool so if you consider using unnatural traffic methods try to get it right; do not over do it and only do it enough to get the articles spread across the site the system will take care of the rest.

3) The article should be compelling, the failure (if I can call it that) for this article is the poor use of the Anchor text, the visitor is expecting a ten minute video but gets a sales page; this is going to be a heavy hitter on the conversion.

I have no doubts it is getting conversion but the article could have gone all out. The article should have been a killer getting more comments and more votes, sure there are good comments but if you read them they are sympathy comments.

4) It is cool to link directly to the product page and get those sales but maybe the site could split test, think about it. A redirect URL is used anyway, so why not capture some of the traffic as leads for yourself and others to the sales. Ultimately you could have your own client base of visitors that are paying you, of course if you just want to punch out affiliate sales this is the way to go.

5) The second link to scribd.com although can be an interesting read does not lead the visitor anywhere. The links are in the content and the visitor just may not see them, it is not captivating or capturing and essentially it will very low conversion.

let me know if you get any results?

There are some key fundamental principals to take into consideration when designing a landing page. Most of which is covered in this attached image that I screenshot and edited:

Credit for the landing page design goes to Creative Digital Media. Creative Digital Media has spent extensive amount of energy testing what works and more importantly what converts when it comes to a landing page. It was all those small tweaks here and there that could lead a landing page to convert 44% times more greater without adding any more content.

So now you have an idea of what an ideal landing page looks like, but I want you to take a look at this landing page that works in all browsers crisp and clean and is an ideal model similar to the one displayed above;

No you have not been rick rolled, it is the main Google search homepage. It fits all the criteria of what a perfect landing page should aspire to be. Simple, clean, direct to the point. Give the visitor what they want.

OK, I hear you; what if you want to collect some data from an opt-in box after displaying a video? Well Google has also got this covered;

You can see this here [unless the page changes by the time you have read this post].

I want to add that both pages for Google are above the fold!

Again clean, crisp and direct to the point. You can replace that area for the click for more information with a opt-in box.

It does not stop there, the pages is optimized for all browsers and is almost 100% W3 Markup Validated according to a display in html 5. The only thing that let it down is the youtube video, but that is a problem faced with javascript embedded videos.

Now I am not discussing of conversion based on the merit of brand, no doubt Google had that page converting like crazy before someone even hit that page, nevertheless you can not dismiss the effect that pages has as a landing page that will convert.

There is no reason that this layout can not be applied to a sales page.

If you feel the need to include a sales page alongside the landing page layout then leave the landing page principals [displayed in the first image above the fold]. Take a lesson from Creative Digital Media, the team at the forefront of converting landing pages.

This is an original screen-shot of what you get when you visit the page, then you have a screen-shot of the entire page if you where to scroll down:

The images are different since the above the fold image is from a slider.

So in initial impression a visitor is hit by is this whoooosh graphic image of what the site/service is all about. They may not scroll down and go blog or portfolio which both are great to communicate your message further with the visitor.

The correct layout matters when it comes to landing pages. The guru’s are all now using a similar layout to the first image and what Google has appiled ie. video+opt-in+killer points+Big Ass subscribe button.

Some go to the extent of using arrows or circles around the boxes, etc; and you may have a view on that for being overkill but I kid you not when I say that there is a method to this madness and it is a ‘psychological trigger’.

It pushes the person to the ‘call to action’, something that we think is ‘duh, obvious next step’; wrong. tests have been done on this and some need that push. For some reason this overkill works best with the youtube crowd, some people call them the ‘dumbed down generation’ but heh I ain’t judging.

Check out ijustine’s youtube channel you will know what I mean but I think she has taken it a notch down now.

Whilst doing a search for some ‘islamic clothing’, I decided to punch this into the Google free keyword tool and see what results I get.

The search term ‘islamic clothing’ comes up with 74,000 global and a local search [US] comes up with 33,100.

So I looked below at the other variety of potential keywords and noticed a combination of keywords that came to approx’ 100,000+ searches [global]. Now in keyword research you would dig deeper to find other keywords by punching in other terms from the list and see what you get. I noticed down the list that ‘abayas’ [long overgarment essentially a robe-like dress, worn by some women] gets 49,500 searches [global]. In this manner I could find a combination of keywords that rack up the search to about 250,000+ searches at least.

The beauty of it is that ‘islamic clothing’ has competition with quotes in Google of 143,000 and ‘abayas’ has only 128,000 with quotes.

For those of you that have been following the SEO videos I provided will know by now how to rank for keyword hands down in the SERPs.

I have used Internet Business Promoter, business edition [$499.95] to do a thorough search of the top 10 ranking pages on Google for the term ‘islamic clothing’, here is the result [pdf].

I have used the top ranking page to do the examination ie. shukronline.com. by taking a look at the detail report you will see that to rank in the top 5 of Google is not going to be that difficult for you at all.

Now what you could do is find a website or a seller of Islamic clothing that is willing to supply internationally and make a deal with them. See if you can get a contract with them to do the SEO work and potential the web design [site has to be optimized], you could charge them for the development.

There are many solutions in place that can monitor Internet clicks, sales and processes. Once installed you will be surprised at the amount of data they can provide, from the intial click all the way to the sale will be recorded.

With the retail market having a high margin I would not be surprised if this could be a business venture to retire on

There is the assumption that if people are talking about a product or service or even a method that is creating a Buzz then that is the direction that we should be focusing on to making money online, right?

Take for example the golden word in internet marketing, NICHE!

The Wikipedia definition of online niche marketing: An often used technique for affiliate marketers. By seeking out smaller segments of larger markets, a website can be developed and promoted quickly to uniquely serve a targeted and usually loyal customer base, giving the affiliate a small but regular income stream. This technique is then repeated across several other niche websites until a desired income level is achieved.

However did you know that one the worst Mistakes you can make that will send you in a on a false spending spree and eating into countless hours of your life proving to be totally unproductive or non-profitable is searching out and looking for Niches!

This is not an understatement and the more you understanding it the clearer things will start to become;

In a simple case scenario the basic and fundamental advice given in internet marketing is to go and look for these niches that have not yet been accessed by others and are waiting to be tapped into for making money.

But what you should actually be doing is, instead of identifying and finding these niches you should be looking for targeted audiences or targeted markets

Right from the outset you should be seeking out and finding a very broad market or targeted audience that will be the basis of your online marketing business.

An example of a Broad ‘market’ would be ‘weight loss’.

An example of a targeted audience would be those who want to be able to lose weight or those looking to get fitter or in shape.

As you can see the choice was to look for a broad targeted market or to look for a broad targeted audience or both.

So instead of searching for those hidden niches, developing offers within those niches, then running off to be able to find other niches to be targeting are something you do not want to be doing.

Find those targeted audiences, start developing a business model focused in and around a specific group of either subscribers to a mailing list, customers, affiliate marketers and partners by offer a variety of offers or services.

What you should understand here is that you need not create loads and loads of niches to be making a sustainable income online. You just need to have one healthy market i.e. targeted audience base.

So what you are looking to do is make things as simple as you can and make money just doing that. So instead of looking for these smaller multiple niches, you will be looking for those bigger targeted audiences and be offering them a variety of extremely related services, offers or products.

What you are attempting to do is to find a customer base that will be willing to purchase from you repeatedly time and time again.

Let us look at an example:

The industry of ‘losing weight’ is massive and worth billions of dollars per year. There are not just thousands of people who have the potential to become paying customers but there are millions of customers out there who are looking to be losing weight, to get fit or into shape.

You make an assessment that anyone who is ‘to be losing weight, to get fit or into shape’ is within the reach of your target audience, the market that basically is looking to purchase the offers that you have to make.

Now you create a product, maybe an eBook that is called, ’12 days weight loss without dieting’ (just hypothetical, not sure if it can be achieved; but you get the point J ). This would be an excellent way to kick it off as you would be aware that there is a massive market base.

Once your site is built, then the marketing would need to kick in. From your marketing you would be getting subscribers to the mailing list, customers sign up and not to forget actual sales!

Now there is no need to go off and create other completely different niches like, ‘train your cat to play the piano’; now you simply start to develop related products, offers or services for that customer base and subscribers that you have built.

Once you have got the customers in place or those who will be potential buyers from your mailing list then all you need to provide them with is the ‘offer’. The combination is a simple formula – Offer to Buyer.

Just start to churn out those offers, services or products to that target audience that you have already accessed. You could start to develop your own or start to outsource the work. The variety of products that can be offered is not limited except by your own imagination. You could be offering interviews with experts, affiliate products, videos, audios, eBooks, how to guides, etc.

You have understood that the outcome for the target audience is to be losing weight, getting into shape or getting fitter.

The multitude of products that can be offered could be related to eating, drinking, training, walking, running, yoga, therapy, kick boxing, karate, low calorie eating, healthy living, etc the list is endless.

What you will notice from the list above is that they are different to each other. However they will have one thing is common which you would package them up to be viewed from that perspective or angle, and that is to either lose weight, get into shape or get fitter.

Any of your customers that end up buying your initial ’12 day’s weight loss without dieting’ would be interested in purchasing one of these additional products, why? Simply because they are highly related products. Take the ‘kick boxing’ example. Churn out an eBook called ’10 minutes of flying kung-fu to tone your abs’ and include methods that work on abs with pictures, instructions or even videos.

What will occur here is that your loyal customers will buy multiple products directly from you or based on your recommendation through your affiliate link.

The first thing you want to do is find that ‘targeted audience’, the one you want to build your business in and around. Similar to the example above that have an outcome.

Here are 3 simple but Golden rules to what you should be looking for when picking a market:

They like to spend money!

If you target the audience of young children who like to play games and think about developing ‘cheat books’ for kid’s games online do you think they will buy? Of course not! They do not have credit cards, paypal or any real money above their spending budgets of $1 a week. What about ‘students’? Students are always broke, I know I am stereotyping; but I am being factual in my business thinking. If you look at those who play golf, golfers spend a in the millions every year. They are people who have spending power and spending power customers is who we want to target.

They like to receive variety of offers.

If there is a cap or a limitation of the number of different type of products you can offer to the market then you want to try to stay clear. Based on the general theme that you have picked for your targeted audience you should be able to offer them multiple products, offers or services.

An area that you have an interest in.

This of course is optional. If you have an interest in an area, probably more importantly an interest with knowledge then this can be helpful in building your business. If you have met the criteria’s #1 and #2 in finding a target audience and you know that area or have an interest then it is a bonus, but just an option.

Now you just need to go out there and find that audience!

Below is a list of 60 areas that you can start to explore, but please only pick ONE. There is a temptation to pick multiple options, which you certainly can once you have an understanding of how to market and sell in one audience group. At that stage you can rinse and repeat, but by exerting all your resources to one healthy target audience can prove to be sufficient in providing a healthy sustainable income year over year over year.

You are not restricted to these 60 at all; if in your search you find others then please explore them.

65-Writing

In case you are wondering as to which one should I go for? Or how do I know which is then one I should target? Then simply do searches in those areas using Google to find statistics of how much money that industry makes.

If you look at the last one on the list ‘writing’ you want to find the kind of money that is spent in either ‘writing’ or ‘reading’, why reading? Because those who read, read the work of writers and you obviously need to be able to write well for people to buy your work. I can say for sure the market is massive, but this is about you doing your work.

Find out what that industry is worth and the different ways people are spending money in that industry. The ‘writing’ example could be creative writing, copywriting, how to books on writing, speed typing, etc. You want to be confident that it is a multimillion industry.

Break it down into sub-categories; in fact ebay.com probably has a list of categories with sub-categories. Start to make a list of sub categories and see what is spent in that area.

Next we will look at how to find the subscribers and those would be buyers of your offers.
