Hitler is probably the most vilified historical person (apart from Trump perhaps). The concentration camps, cruel experiments, torture and looting…who can forget?
But do you know where Hitler got all his brilliant ideas from? Oh yes, United States of America; good ol’ US of A!
What makes me say that? Let’s take a look.
- Henry Ford inspired Hitler’s anti-Semitic views
Henry Ford owned a newspaper called the Dearborn Independent. Ford, in one of his published essays, wrote that – ‘The Jew has been too long accustomed to think of himself as exclusively the claimant of the humanitarian society.’ He even went on to suggest that the ‘Jews are the scavengers of the world. Wherever there is anything wrong with the country, you’ll find the Jews on the job there.’
Who knows when young Hitler while having his kartofel and schnapps was reading Ford’s rant and was inspired to follow suit. But on a much grander scale of course. In fact, Hitler went on to explain during an interview with the Detroit News reporter, “I regard Henry Ford as my inspiration.”
It seems they had more than just cars as an idea for their mass production lines.
- United States of Auschwitz
Imagine the scene: A long line of naked thin bodies being sprayed with poisonous pesticide after the head were shaved. Auschwitz, right? Wrong! This was the American policy for treating Mexicans at the border control in El Paso slums in 1917. It was sold to the public as “typhus prevention” but hey, that’s the kind of thing Hitler might have said, right? Most of the tricks Hitler had up his sleeve for the Jews came from America? Hitler was praising America to high heavens with this policy that he was quoted as saying, “The American union itself … has established scientific criteria for immigration … making an immigrant’s ability to set foot on American soil dependent on specific racial requirements on the one hand as well as a certain level of physical health of the individual himself.”
Even the Zyklon-B gas was bought in America, you know, the ‘God Bless America’?
- The Land of the Free
Let’s look at Hitler’s idea of the “master race” of human beings. No, wait, we mean America’s idea of creating a human master race.
Yep, Hitler borrowed this one too!
It was called eugenics and it was the idea that some humans should decide on breeding rights with other humans. You guessed it; this would exclude the disabled, blind, deaf, poor or criminal element. Or, as the eugenicists called them, ‘bacteria, mongrels, vermin and sub-human’. This was the most abhorrent idea Hitler will be remembered for although in fact it was just another despotic, dictatorial, hand-me-down from Uncle Sam.
Maybe Mein Kampf includes a passage about “The Land of the Free”.
